Idukki

Kerala

Idukki, beyond the tea hills.

Tea country is only one part of Idukki. The district opens into spice plantations, forests, high mountain landscapes and wildlife country.

Why spend time here?

Idukki brings together some of Kerala's most varied highland landscapes. Around Munnar, tea plantations cover the slopes; further south, the forests of Periyar bring wildlife into the picture. Spice-growing areas, reservoirs and mountain roads give the journey a different rhythm from the coast.

For travellers who enjoy being outdoors, there is room for walks, plantation visits, wildlife experiences and time simply spent in the hills.
